Beet - Detroit Dark Red

The Detroit Dark Red beet variety is the most popular beet. It's ideal for boiling, pickling, canning, baking and eating fresh. Detroit beets have a large, even shape with medium tops. The produce a dark red 2-4" globe, with a blood red interior which are smooth and sweet. This is a dual-purpose vegetable, the deep green tops can be cooked like swiss chard.  Excellent storage variety. Disease resistant. HEIRLOOM 1892.
